This cookbook, the companion to the award-winning Discovery Channel television series by the same name, was written as a travel guide for world class gastronomes. It features traditional, regional specialties, and elegant contemporary dishes, prepared by renowned Michelin and Relais & Châteaux chefs from Austria, Belgium, France, Italy, and Spain.
Summer was the Food Stylist for the cookbook cover, as well as a Contributing Editor, and in this role she provided nine of her original recipes. In addition, Ms. Whitford tested, wrote, re-created, or edited all of the recipes for on-air broadcast and publication. Both the show and the book included a diverse range of recipes from superstar chefs such as Alain Ducasse of Hôtel Plaza Athénéein Paris, and Le Louis XV in Monte Carlo;Marc Meneau, of L'Espérance,in Vézelay, in Burgundy; and Celestino Giacomello from Hotel Gritti Palace in Venice, Italy.
